Girls at Work, Inc. offers Woodworking for Women, an all-women building class. All levels are welcome and no experience is necessary!
Our latest series of classes will be building furniture with antique barn board and lumber from heat treated pallets.
You will learn the fundamentals of woodworking, while building not only a beautiful piece of furniture with repurposed lumber, but also building your self confidence in the process. You need not have any woodworking experience at all. Many participants bring quite a lot of fear to the workshops. Please be assured we will help you work through that fear with supportive instruction and much emphasis placed on safety. To see what other participants have said about the classes, please visit our Woodworking for Women page on Meetup.
Our workshops for women are a great way to get together with a group of friends and step out of your comfort zone. Many women associate power tools with fear and danger. Overcoming this fear and learning how to use power tools safely enables women to work through some paralyzing fear. These workshops encourage women to let go of self doubt and tap into the inherent power that we all possess.
All classes are held at our headquarters at 4 Elm Street in Manchester, NH. All proceeds from these classes will benefit our after school programs, where we teach girls to tap into their inner power through building.
Step out of your box! Come and experience the fulfillment that comes with designing, creating and building something you can be proud of!
