Every summer we have the opportunity to partner with various organizations that work with youth. For an entire week last summer, we had the pleasure of working with Portsmouth, N.H.-based New Heights, a program that helps young people ages 11 to 18 successfully transition to adulthood. As parents picked up their daughters at the end of each day, they were amazed to see all the projects these first time builders completed.
The sweetest build of the week was a little custom picnic table the girls built for the younger kids who attended New Heights’ childcare center. The builders delivered the table with pride, and the young ones were so excited that their little feet could touch the ground once they sat on their new table!
We also had the pleasure this summer of working with Dover, N.H.-based Zebra Crossings, a program that works with chronically ill children. Of course, nothing stopped these children from learning how to build with us!
